We’re Married!
Our civil wedding took place on May 3, 2024
The Ceremony
Our civil wedding ceremony took place on May 3, 2024 at the town hall in Hangenbieten, France - the village where Vincent grew up. We stood before the Mayor of Hangenbieten who married us in a traditional civil ceremony that is required for all marriages in France. The ceremony was held in both French and English, thanks to the Mayor’s wife who is a former English teacher.
The ceremony lasted about 20 minutes. Vincent and I both said “Oui!”
Celebration
After the ceremony, we walked back to Vincent’s parents’ house in Hangenbieten and drove to the Parc de l’Orangerie in Strasbourg for photos and dinner at the restaurent Le Buerehiesel, located right inside the park.
Sunday Brunch
On Sunday, May 5, we invited our families to brunch at Les Jardins de la Ferme Bleue in Uttenhoffen, France. The brunch was served in an old farmhouse and we explored the beautiful, award-winning gardens outside.
